Federal College of Education Technical Omoku is a federal owned College of Education thatvis located in Omoku,Rivers State.

Federal College of Education Technical Omoku was Established in 1989 by the federal government act that saa the establishment of the federal government of Education.

The Temporary site for the college of Education in 1989 was provided by Rivers state government which is the Teacher Training College that is not been used again. The college of Education used this temporary site for operation and in 1997 the permanent site was bought and worked on.

On 1998 development on the permanent site began and for period of years and with the level of infrastructure only two schools have been moved from the temporary site to the permanent site while the others are awaiting to be moved over to the permanent site once Construction is complete.

Federal College of Education Technical Omoku as at time of establishment does not have any Governing Council until 1993 when the new Governing council was setup and runned.

The College of Education was setup in 1989 in order to meet Challenges of self reliance in the local production of Technology teachers to teach vocational,technical and all others courses in the secondary school and to also establish and develop the college as seminar centres of ideas on the  development and teaching of technical of Vocational/technical subjects.

Federal College of Education Technical Omoku operate programme in the institution including NCE programme on both Part-Time and Full Time Basis, Professional Diploma and also part time skill acquisition scheme for Youths.

 Candidates who selected Federal College of Education(Technical) (in affiliation with a university) in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) are eligible to apply.


 Applicants must possess at least five (5) credit passes in relevant subjects, including English Language and Mathematics, obtained in not more than two sittings (WAEC, NECO, or equivalent).
